A print QR code you won't have to redo
A beautiful code that doesn't scan is useless. A few rules to keep that from happening.
- Use SVG format. It's a vector: it prints sharply from a business card to a 2×2 meter banner.
- Error correction level H (30%) if there's a logo in the center — the code stays readable even when partially covered.
- Quiet zone — leave a white margin of at least 4 modules around the code. The most common reason a code won't scan is cropped margins.
- Contrast — dark modules on a light background. Phones read light-on-dark poorly.
- Size — for signage, use the 10:1 rule (size ≈ scanning distance ÷ 10).
- Test it live — scan a printed sample with your phone before the full run.
Our editor takes care of all of this: SVG export, automatic correction boost for logos, and a built-in quiet zone.
